I totally agree. This sounds very politically motivated. Perhaps someone or some organization wanted to get rid of them. In the days of the wild west, disagreements were dealt with revolver duels at high noon. Nowadays, disagreements are settled by looking for something wrong with the other person and using that as a pretense to get rid of them… even if that pretense makes no sense.

They are a good company with good people. They provide a service and the yale students will have to do without it. Damn those protesters. They have ended a good thing, but just wait in a few years time they’ll want it back. What exactly was the nature of these students complaints?

360 State Street is pretty good.

Yale needs a gourmet grocer, though. Probably if there were a university Whole Foods, business would be crazy.

Yale can easily find someone else to sell similar items out of that space. Yale has no reason to put up with a crappy tenant there, since almost all the value comes from Yale, so G-Heav has no leverage. Just find somebody else to run a deli who doesn’t break the law.

If they can’t use slave labor for little or no pay then they might as well pack it in.
UP charges way too much rent for dilapidated old buildings , Must be to fund the way too high salaries of UP officials.

Judging by Yale University Properties’ track record, they’ll probably replace it with a very expensive clothing boutique. Probably something European, or aspiring to Europeanness.
